Vawg session at Gujrati center Ilford

Yesterday, officers 7016EA and 7109EA from the Valentine’s Safer Neighbourhood Team joined local residents at the Gujarati Centre for an important discussion around Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG).

We spoke with members of the community — including vulnerable women — about personal safety, reporting concerns, and staying safe as the evenings get darker.

We encourage everyone to take a few simple precautions when travelling home late:

--Plan your route in advance

--Keep to well-lit areas 

--Let someone know when you’re on your way home

--Report anything that makes you feel unsafe
